January 28, 2004

I am in a painting class right now and it is the most frustrating class I think I've ever been in. The problem is that by nature, I am generally a pretty "artistic" guy, or at least thats what someone told me. Naturally I thought I'd do nicely in painting. Not super nice, but I figured I would get the hang of it. I don't get any hangs of any of it yet. By far the most irritating class of the day. The paint sticks to the brush and sticks to itself, its like combing your hair with rubber cement. The canvas has a texture, so unless you use a quarter tube of paint (at $4.50 a pop mind you), you will not have enough paint down to cover all the dimples in the canvas. And finally, its nothing like drawing at all. I have no control. So far, I hate painting because I'm no good at it. And if that statement makes me sound self centered, than I probably am.

"There is no way we could possibly do infinity push-ups."
"Well maybe if he lets us do them girly-style..."
