What Went Wrong In Santa Monica

A little over a week ago, I went to Santa Monica with Sara. The trip, overall was really great, and very enjoyable. However, everything went wrong while we were there. Here is a list of the things that went wrong with our trip:
  • We missed the plane because traffic was so bad and the lines at the airport were so long, so we didn't end up getting to the hotel until about 12:30am

  • And we didn't get to sit together on the plane

  • Sara sat next to this Young Republican fellow decked out in a suit, reading a book self help, empowering quotations

  • The hotel room had double beds, whereas Sara made the reservation for king. Double beds are too small for us tall folk

  • So that lady had us pick from two rooms which we examined at 12:45am, we chose the smoking room over the one with a conference table and whiteboard for the living room

  • The first meal we ate (cheesesteak sandwich) burned the roof of my mouth which then blistered up

  • Sara lost her Drivers license while shopping on the Santa Monica shopping strip (she later was able to recover it)

  • The waiter brought out Sara's soup early, even though she asked for it with her meal

  • The hotel lost Sara's packages which took several hours for them to find

  • Sara had to work the trade show with this horribly stupid/stubborn lady

  • There was an elevator that we used that didn't work going down, then we tried it later going up, still wouldn't work. Moments later we saw another couple using it -it worked just fine for them

  • The non-english speaking taxi cab driver who drove us to LA took an extra 35 minutes and cost us an extra $25, despite us telling him that we knew he was going the wrong way and ripping us off

  • At Family Guy Live!, people started leaving the show early, which caused them to end the Q&A early

  • Not to mention how bad the questions were, e.g. "So, In the show, Stewie is always trying to kill Lois and take over the world. I was just wondering.. Is that ever gonna happen?"

  • We went to the beach. Half way there, I realized I forgot my swimming trunks

  • On the beach, there was a guy who had a heart attack

  • On the boardwalk, there was a hobo disguised as a street performer, with a Sesame Street Ernie hand puppet and microphone saying demented things as Ernie through the boombox, like "I'm gonna take you all out! Yeah! You and what army?!.."

  • There was one of those silver street performer robots that didn't stay in character. Quite a disgrace to the silver robot street performing community

  • The lady at the "Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf" strongly advised against the Jasmine Mint Frozen Tea, so Sara didn't get it. The next day, Sara did order that drink and it was awesome

  • At the hotel, we watched a cinematic abomination known as "Envy"

  • Trying to go back to the airport, the Super Shuttle was 40 mins late because it broke down, so they had to send another one

  • My flight home was overbooked with standby passengers, so I got bumped to the next flight

  • Subsequently, I missed my Niece's 2nd birthday party

  • Sara left the keycard in the room and locked herself out. They wanted to see an ID to let her back in the room, which was also locked in the room

  • The next day, driving to pick up Sara from the airport, a rock put a crack in my windshield

So that is the list. All these little things went wrong, but luckily, like I said, it was a good trip overall.
Should we be flying this close to the mountains?
