Sara and I watched Prozac Nation today. Overall, I would say that I was very unimpressed. I wasn't expecting a lot out of this 2001 movie staring Christina Ricci, but the whole movie seemed forced and unnatural. I think they were going for a Girl Interrupted sort of uncomfortable/sad feeling, but were never quite able to pull it off. The high's were too forced and the touchy-feely parts were not very touching. I was also surprised that Christina Ricci did a nude shot at the beginning which added nothing to the film at all, didn't even really make sense. While Prozac Nation wasn't a terrible movie to watch, is not a film I would recommend to anyone, not even to my depressed goth friends. "I did the same thing to Gandhi, he didn't eat for three weeks."
