Heres the scoop. I want to go see Tom's show up in Laramie, WY but it will be difficult. I would like to see it tomarrow, but that would mean I have to get D-Lo from work to cover my shift. Otherwise, I could go see the 9pm show on saturday after work and see if maggie wants to go, but I get off work at 5 and so that would be cutting it close.

In other news, I havn't shaved in a while and I should probably shave. Aslo, I am out of money.

I got 2 new cd's the other day. Beck and Finch. The beck CD is much like his release, "mutations" which i loved. I have only listened to the new one once, so I'm hoping it will be like mutations where Its ok the first few times I hear it, but eventually becomes one of my favorites. However, the Finch CD was pretty much crap. I took a recomendation from a KTCL dj and picked it up. The last recomendation I took from them was great - VAST. This finch CD tho, sucks. There are three listenable tracks on the 13 track cd. I don't really recomend it. Its like godsmack meets POD with bad pop-punk influences. Not equaling a desireable sound. Anyhow, Beck good, Finch bad.

We won our game on Sunday night, and it was a scorcher! Not knowing what a scorcher is, I'll just give you the breakdown. Within the 1st 12 mins, we were up 4 to 0. Now we were playing a team that was 0 and 6. However, this week they obtained a new player. He then led their team to score 4 goals. There were about three mins left in the game when it was tied, but we were able to score within the last 30 seconds and hold the lead. I didn't score, but I think that I played supprisingly well, considering I was sick as a dawg with my cold.

This week is once again no fun. I was up last night writing a seven page paper untill 4:30am that I started at about 6pm. Tomarrow, in math alone I have a week long homework problem, a Maple Lab (thats a computer program for math), and an exam over the past 5 weeks of class.

On to happier news, if you are at all interested in Amoebas, I have found a java amoeba video game that I will link to here. It is called Adios, Amoebas and it is the best video game i have ever played. Its tough tho because those amoebas are so smart, just like they are in real life.

I don't think anyone likes this site anymore.

September 21, 2002

Amoeba's are my new favorite thing. I mean, what other naked freshwater or marine or parasitic protozoa that forms from temporary pseudopods for feeding and locomotion could have as much fun as an amoeba? I want to get involved with amoebas, have one as a pet, raise it and love it. I like Amoebas so much, I even drew a picture of one:

Blue Means Fast: What does it mean? My roomate doesen't know much about computers. When he got to college, his roomate let him know that he shouldn't plug his modem into the phone jack as he was trying to do, but rather use the ethernet connection. Nick didn't know how to achieve this so he asked him. The kid said he needs to go out and buy a blue cable from the computer store, then he would have a fast connection, hence, blue means fast. Now I don't know if nick understands technology or not, but he has thus far spray painted our coax cable to the tv, the phone line, and his tires all blue. I dont think he gets it.

Why should I spend 20 mins a day unsubscribing from spam/junk mailing lists? I know everyone hates junkmail, and I know how much people hate having to delete all of it, but I just realized, its not necessarily that I get it, its that I get it, and have to spend 20 mins a day deleting unsubscribing from it. I know good and well that I never told anyone, anywhere that I would like to recieve great deals on the 24-hour diet, low-cost ink, or debt relief. I'm not in debt, I get ink at cost, and I don't need a dehydration diet! Those are obviously just a few of the hundreds and hundreds of mail I have recieved. I think I get about 20 a day. Where the hell are they comming from? Thankfully, I have my 'clean' email account that I have never gotten any junk mail in, cause I only give it to people I know, but my hotmail account is a different story. I filled the 'blocked' list up full of addresses almost a year ago, so now I have to unsubscribe to these idiots. I can't express my hatred for these people enough. I honestly wonder how much buisness these guys do just from spam. In the 5 oe so years Ive been on the internet, I think I have fallowed links from within 5 span mails, if that, and never have I purchased anything from them. I just dont get it. I could write to someone for 3 years asking for money in the most annoying way possible, but they wouldnt give it to me, they would just get pissed off. Do they think that by sending spam to us, "eventually they will break down and buy something, they have to". Who thought of spam mail too? Some guy in a buisness meeting said, "Heres my proposal: we will start sending advertisments to e-mail accounts, whether they are in our demographic or not, whether they are senior citizens or toddlers, whether they want car insurence or sex stimulant, we will not stop untill they get so pissed off that they have to buy something. What if they don't like it? Legaly, we have to put an unsubscribe button at the bottom of the e-mail, however we can just have them un subscribe from the email addy 148972045018975@reallysuperincredibledeals.com, but they will be still subscribed to 0978634198061965@reallysuperincredibledeals.com plys 4900 other mailing lists from us alone."

...I'm rambling..

Anyhow, this week has been super busy, but Maggies birthday was great and went off without a hitch, unless by hich you mean 2 hours hunched over the toilet Tuesday night ;). I got to goto bed, but I will tell you about my new found love for amebas in the next post. it will be exciting.

September 16, 2002

This is not the best week for me. Socially, It will be a blast, but with school, it will suck. Maggies 21st is on Wed (so tuesday night past 12am) and that is going to be fun. However, I have a "Computer Systems Performance Analysis" exam on thursday, A math lab due on friday, a weeks worth of math assignments due on friday and goodness knows how much reading. It wouldnt be so bad if i didnt have to work mon, tues, and thursday night, all right after school untill 10 or later.

Gandhi wasn't bad, it just wasn't that good.

My work wants to fire me, but that won't be the case after I talk to my GM today. My work is stupid. I have been called in to work 14 of the last 14 days I have had off from work. I have a serious sleeping problem, and I need help.

September 14, 2002

As you can see it is past 3am, which usually isnt a problem, except that I work in 5 hours. Unfortunatly, Maggies mom's car was dead downtown, so we had to go jump it. Boo for 4- hours of sleep.

Birthday, Aniversary, Gift-giving event, or just a gift to yourself in your near future? You might want to take a look at this.

So service Pack 1 for XP is out now, and I got to download it, because I bought my version of Windows
Gandhi put me in a bad mood. Not for his inspiring philosophies or his movement for world justice, but rather, for his DVD. I spent almost 3 hours tonight going to a total of 8 Blockbusters/Hollywood videos trying to rent this film for my junior seminar class. In doing this....I thought of a few things. Granted, they gave us about 3 weeks to view this film, but there is 60 of us who are required to watch this. Now, there are 8 blockbusters/hollywood videos within 30 mins of Regis as I found out tonight. Rentals go for a week these days, so we will say that each person had the flick for an average of 3.5 days (1/2 the time of the rental) and each store had but one copy available, even tho all of them were rented out. Now, 3.5 x 60 = 210 days divided by 8 rental stores = 26 days. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are only 21 days in 3 weeks, plus that would only work if everything went as planned. Anyhow, I was pissed.
The second thing is that I cant stand how Hollywood Video organizes their videos. They have Drama, Classics, Academy Award Films...where the hell do I look? They might as well add "Movies That Were Filmed" and "Movies That Were In Movie Theatres" sections.
Third, I couldn't call the stores, because they were all busy (friday night) that I would be on hold forever, then they told me they didn't carry it. I would ask them how they spelled it and they would say G-a-n-d-i. Hopeless they were.
Anyhow, I ended up buting it on DVD for 18 bucks. Crap.

Dean has so far, peed on my rug, Chewed on my sheets, chewed on the sleve of my shirt, and eaten so many little things off the ground that I didn't even know existed.
P.S. see if you see my new banner at the top and tell me if you like it.

How are you doing?

September 12, 2002

Not much going on in the always-exciting world that is mark. 9/11 was way to over-mediasized, so i didna do anything on the site. I don't think we need the media to "help us remember" something that they havn't gone a day without mentioning in the last 365 days. We can reflect on our own. We didn't need them to bombard us with images and recaps that were unnecasary. Nevermind that.

Netflix still rules. Right now I have out Tao of Steve, Monsters Ball and Jesus' Son. I havn't seen Monsters ball yet, but I'm hoping it will be good.
So I have to watch Ghandi for my Junior Seminar class and I am not looking foreward to that. Its not even on DVD. Stupid Ghandi. I hope its not as boaring as I think it will be.

If anyone knows of any good Window Blinds skins, would you please post the link to them here.

We get to watch our landlords dog, Dean, for a wile this month. This dog is great. He pees if you touch him, he climbs up you in order to "get to the top" as he puts it, he barks at empty food bowls, and is the coolest. Im stoked.

September 10, 2002

This was sent to me by Dan. Its really messed up.

My sister got home tonight and I got to see her. She gave me a sweet comunist shirt from viatnam that is grey with a tellow star in the middle. It feels all weird. She had a great time there and I'm glad shes back home safely.
Other than that, this day has been completely uneventfull, however, yesterday I did download the coolest software ever. Its the new version of Windows Media Player. Beta 9. Check it out, it seems the same at first, but once you play around with it a while, you see all the sweet new features. Link to it is here. Too bad the skins and visuals still suck. If anyone knows a place to download visuals and skins for WMP, please post it. Hopefully tomarrow will be more eventfull .

Against all expectations, as strong of a team as we are, we lost. It was pretty sad. I have mixed feelings about the game. On one hand, 2 of the goals that we made didn't count as goals because the ref didn't see them go in. The first, I didn't even see so I dont know what happened, but the second one, bounced off of the middle vertical bar inside the goal and bounced out, but was not called a goal. Also, toward the end, some little guy fell next to Tom, he triped himself and they called Tom for triping.
Nick was quoted as saying, "That was the worst call I've seen yet." Nick has been to every Slashing Hyenas game this season and it competing against my sister for title of 'Biggest Hyenas Fan'. My sister has mised all of our games this season due to her trip to Asia [but gets back tomarrow =)]. All of that said, if the refs had been on top of things, we would have at least tied the game.
On the other hand, I don't feel like all of us were playing like we should have. We were all pooped soon into the game, I hadn't eaten all day yet, this was Trish's 2nd game of the day after being gone for 2 weeks. I just think we got too tired too quick. On the plus side, I did score my 4th goal of the season after a beautiful pass from Tom. All and all we are still tied for 2nd place in the league, but we are tied with 7 other teams, so....

My wonderfull work has called me in to work on 8 of the past 8 days I have been scheduled off, 2 of which I agreed to. They are just really making me mad. Aparently, I cant have a day off. Lance, Nick, and Michael are now all a part of the /mark news staff, but I don't know how much/if they will post at all. Hopefully the next few games will go better and my work will 'Es Tee Eff You'.

Update: Holy crap! I had 36 people go to my website on the 8th (yesterday). Thats the most since the day where I IMed everyone to go because i updated back in sept 2001. I have no idea why I'm getting so many hits. probably lances post, huh...

Big Apple News
/mark NYC correspondent, Lance

Hi there Kiddies! This is Lance from the big city writing because Mark told me too. My life out her has been kinda crappy... I have always disliked the month of September, it's such a downer! This September has brought three crappy events so far:

1.) My boyfriend dumped my ass! I was so in love with this guy and he just didn't feel the same way. I guess I should just get over it, but I've never been dumped before. So I don't have any luck with Gay or Straight men, so I've decided to become a lesbian.
2.) My productivity at Lord and Taylor has been low. Unfortunatly, we have to sell a certain number of cologne bottles per day and if we don't we get in trouble. Needless to say, I'm in trouble. The numbers for my individual lines are up, so I won't lose my job, but I'm just stressed.
THE BIG #3.) Anyone remeber what happened almost one year ago? It's been kinda nerveracking being in Manahttan lately. I try not to worry, but Lord and Taylor is less than three blocks from Times Square, The Empire State Building and Grand Central. I hope everything is as "normal" as it can be that day, but it's kinda scary. I hope everyone has a very safe day, that day. I'll be seeing a B-Way show that night (Throughlly Modern Maggie... I mean Millie). God knows that B-Way has taken a big hit from the attacks and I want to support them.

So I guess this was kinda depressing for a first Mark.com post, but they'll get better, I promise!
BTW- I'm 21 now, so I can go clubbing anytime!!!

Hugs and Kisses to all

Well Here we go kids. I have archived all of the old posts and started to use blogger to update. All this will mean is that I will be able to update more and from anywhere which i hope is a good thing.

School is okay, but I'm really excited for my hockey game tonight, as I am each and every week. If anyone has any cleaver ideas on what I could get Maggie for her birthday, you should post them in the forum. If not, I have a few things in mind. Have a great day and whish me luck in the hockey game.
