My sister asked me tonight weather or not we have casual Friday at my work. I am pretty sure we do not. I was informed that many businesses have casual friday at their work, and this is enjoyed by all. So, I have made the decision to do casual Friday. Since I do not want to get fired, I cannot wear casual clothing, so I must "casualize" other aspects of myself, like showering. I'm not going to shower tonight. I am going in to work tomorrow for "casual hygiene" Friday. No shower, no shave, but I will probably take a "hispanic shower", to be politically correct. I'll look like garbage but feel like a crisp ten dollar bill.

If dumpy is casual, consider me Steve Buscemi.

I helped Matt Brozovich with the coding on his website tonight, and it turned out well for all parties involved. Go check it out, that is, as long as he left the new style up. And while your there, comment on his new comments and give him some love. He likes strangers.

I'm pretty upset about the moth situation here in Colorado. There are many of them. I don't like moths at all. I fear them like people fear spiders. Do you know how dirty those little guys are. Moths, by nature, are instinctively drawn to light because of the amount of dust within a lights proximity. Moths flutter around and bounce off walls, curtains, and lights in order to collect dust on their wings to balance themselves. If a moth has no dust on their wings, they are unable to fly; too much dust, and they will not fly correctly. The amount of pollen, bacteria, and other harmful inhalants on a moths wing is more than enough, when in contact with a middle-aged male, approx 175lbs, to become hospitalized for no less than 3 weeks. The "Gazpacho Moth", a native of finland is twice the size as the common "Miller Moth" here in the states and is responsible for 1/3 of the countries bacterial disease related deaths. The "Cantry Moth" which resides in British Columbia was held responsible for asthma and several other bronchial oriented health issues for the past 13 and a half years. Moths are not a force to be reckoned with, and I ask that you help mankind by killing them. A vacuum does a good job. [source: The Mark Pseudo Accurate Tribune]

Well work is going terrific, and I could not be anymore humble to tell you what a joy this 9 to 5 situation is. Up until now I have never experienced the pleasures of what some call "rush hour" traffic. While most seem annoyed or enraged by these times during the day, I however find it relaxing and somewhat refreshing. Laugh at the guy who cuts you off, taking pleasure in the fact he will get to his destination entire minutes before you.

I am also pleasantly surprised to see how many babies and toddlers drive during rush hour as well. I know they are there because when you look at the cars whizzing by you in the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane while your stuck in traffic, it appears the vehicles only have one person occupying them, but since we all know that it is illegal to do this, the only logical explanation is that there's babies. On the floor mats. Or in the trunk. People get mad, but at least I know the truth of how versatile our nations youth can be.

And finally theres lunch. At lunch there is always two options. Go with a boss or co-worker and talk about the work you were just doing and are about to do again, or go by yourself where you can think about what you just did and are going to do at work. Both unique options help in the organization of ones work day and play key roles in the longevity of a general self-satisfaction in the work place.

[Side note: I'm glad they called it T-Rex because its such a cute name, and now and forever more when someone refers to the carnivorous 40 foot long, 20 foot tall behemoth of a *reptile* that ruled prehistoric earth 85 to 65 million years ago, my memories of Mrs. Fletcher's kindergarten's class can now be replaced by something a little more innocent and tranquil.]

My brother let me play for him in the Captain's tournament at the bladium tonight, as he was forced to work 'till 9pm (those bastards). In this captains tournament, there was 6 teams, 7 min periods, and double elimination. Our team won all of the games we played. Matt's team would have played us, but instead of doing a sudden death overtime because of the tie, they gust randomly said the other team won (those bastards). I walked out of the bladium with three t-shirts, one "Bladium Champions Fall 1999" mini hockey stick, and my stomach full of beer and pizza, all complimentary. It was a good dig.

If anyone has a suggestion on a good work boot/shoe, i will take them now.

Joey: Friday after 5 or 6, or Sunday works best. If not, I should be open most of next week after work. I figured you would already have 6 burners and some crazy mixer that I have never heard of before, what, with you being the music guru that you are. Also, did you ask the creator of the "shark" what she could do with me?

Matt: IM me, I need to know what time the game is tonight, and I need to get michael to e-mail the RSVP. Then I can go in and say, "He called me and said he had to stay for a late meeting so he sent me down to represent the Hyenas, WHAT, WHAT!!!"

Everyone else: Work is awesome, im actually doing stuff now, like a bunch of css stuff. Crackin' the jokes and what not. I went bowling with Nick, Di, and her friend tonight then popped over to Weston's party. This post is what happens when nothing interesting enough for an outside source happens , but you still feel obligated to post.
P.S. Di is the Queen.

I feel like I'm getting paid to do squat. It really sucks. Im doing stuff all day (testing css files, learning javascript and jsp), but it just isn't contributing to the foreword momentum of my team it sucks. I guess I should expect to have to play the "learn everything really fast" game, but I feel so worthless there. I'm sure things will get better as time goes on.

I also have a new work e-mail, but I don't know why you would need to use it. In case you do, but just to avoid bots on the internet sending spam, interpret my email from this: MyFirstName.MyLastName@IHSenergy.com.
Im tired.

Well holy crap. This whole "job" thing is way cooler than I imagined. I suppose I could have realized this easily, but never thought about it. To those who have jobs, this seems mundane and stupid, but for those who don't, let me tell you what you have in store: Today I got to work, and after all the paperwork, I got this cool badge that lets me in the building electronically which rules. Then, I went up and got my very own 3rd of a tri-cubicle. It is very big and since it is a part of a "cove" including the other two, It is very open and spacious. Next, I got my very own computer. Its a new Dell with what I estimate to be between a 900mHz and 1600mHz processor, 256 megs of ram and 19" monitor. Next, I got my very own phone and phone number, with voice-mail. If you ask me, I will give you my work number (it spells something easy to remember i found here). I spent pretty much the entire day downloading updates and programs for my computer and trying to figure out our project. Coming into this project with people who have been working on it for no less than a year, was like going driving for the first time while downtown during rush hour traffic. Sure, you know what the break peddle and accelerator do, and you have heard about "left hand turns" and "one way streets" before, but all of the sudden, your right in the middle of it. Luckily, my friend is working on the project with me and is my much needed "back seat driver" or so to speak. Also on our team is a woman named Shelly who was nice and awesome and cool. Im so stoked and can't wait. I will be working first of CSS StyleSheets to make sure the styles are consistent throughout the program, and I don't know what after that.

I have AIM at work, but I ask that you don't IM me for casual conversation, just regular stuff like questions or help or what not. Thats fine. I will probably get more liberal with it as time goes on. If any of you works in the DTC, IM me and we'll go out to lunch sometime.

By the time you are reading this, I will be at my new job. My internship starts tomorrow and I am so excited and scared. I want to give you a full, lush update, but I am so nervous that I just need to goto bed. You can be sure that there will be a nice update to this once I get home from work, so look out.

Props to Matt Brozo's Team Hooka for wining the Copper Championship in our hockey league tonight. They triumphed over the 5th line, who 'whipped' our butts 2 weeks ago. For anyone who doesn't know, or for people who may care, Matt's team is breaking up, and he and his cousin will be Hyenas once again. I can't wait...its gonna rule.

Also, if you didn't check the site over the weekend (Matt, Gwen, Bart) I put up a fun little game on the last post, so please contribute to the list.

So we're going to play a fun game here at /mark over the weekend that might continue on till monday, or even through the week depending. Heres the game. We have to come up with all the movie titles we can that have the words 1 through 10 in them. This would be an easy game if we used imdb, but i encourage all of you to only use imdb as a reference (example: I think theres a movie called "Title of Movie", but I'd better check) and not use imdb as a searching source. I will get everyone started by naming one movie for each number, then you guys just add onto the list. as many as you can think of as the come to you throughout the day/weekend. [please note that sequels do not count, as in Police Academy 10]

What was I to do? How was I to proceed?"

I am a little upset with the advertising industry's lack of originality and disrespect for descent advertising these days. While there are a slew of funny commercials out today (i.e. Snickers SUV commercial, etc.), there are also many bad ones. One interesting example is the 7up commercials lately. I am convinced there are two writers for these commercials. A funny guy, and his not-so-talented-but-their-still-a-team brother. The funny guy pumps out commercials like the vending machine in the middle of the highway, while his brother is responsible for the hot air balloon bit. "But mark, there have always been bad commercials." This is a good point. But never have there been so many consistent bad (and by bad here, I mean unfunny) commercials, all of which selling the same type of product or service. While commercials selling product have more to work with, the commercials selling services still have a fighting chance (i.e. Monster.com, directTV, etc.). Yet some companies that sell services have always, and as far as I can tell, will always put out sub-par commercials. These are your 10-10-### commercials, your 1-800-MakeThemPay ForTheCall commercials, and as my brother pointed out, *every* cell phone commercial. These services have never yielded a descent commercial and I am ashamed to have watched them. While I don't have a point, I just wish some advertising could hire better advertising companies to make commercials that were actually funny. That story sucked.

**Please note that there are two posts today, Mark's is after nicks**
Okay. Heres the scenario, an hour later. Mark, Weston, and Jason are in the livingroom, and I am held up in my room. I thought that hilltop was fun tonight and i got more to drink there than I do at other bars for the same price. The girls taht were there were not that cool, so I guess that I agree with mark on that point. We are listening to music from Mark and I's computers and that is fun. So on to the story that was prefaced earlier...

I had an interview scheduled for Wednesday night at 6.30, I thought taht was a little odd, but I went anyway. There were about twelve people all involved in a group interview. We were told how many people taht worked for the company were millionaires and how many people were billionaires. I was half expecting Ben Affleck to come in the room and throw Ferrari keys on the table and say crazy things about being a millionaire and how he was a senior citizen, even though he is only 27 years old. They would not tell me waht the job was, what an average day was, or what the job paid. They did however tell me to come back tomorrow to find out more. I have decided that I will not go back as I don't think the company is legitimate, and I was angry because they wasted my time.

I am posting another quote for fun...

Okay. Heres the scenario. Weston is to my left passed out on my bed. Nick is in the living room singing along with Genesis. Jason just chimed in. We all got back from Hilltop, which, by the way, was my 1st time there, and it was not all that cool. We played pool with some girls (sub-par [who am I to be picky] girls). Nick claims he will update the website later tonight, but I can't say for sure. Nick went to an interview today that was nothing short of the Ben Affleck scene in Boiler Room, but I will let him explain. I am thoroughly enjoying not having school or work These past two weeks, but I am still stoked to get on the 'work-train'. Other than that, Jason, Matt, and Nels are now on our roster for the upcoming season of hyena hockey. Lastly, I have discovered that the daughter from gilmore girls (Alexis Bledel) is one of the best looking girls that there is, at least in pics where shes done up, as in this one. I bid you ado.

May 14, 2003

Mark is going to bed before me for the fourth time since I have known him, so I am updating the site tonight. I had an interview this morning with a wireless phone service provider and I think it went pretty well. That was at 9.30am. I then proceeded to take a shower and go to my parents house where I got to babysit for my neice. Watching Bob the Builder, Winnie the Pooh, and some other tv show became a little boring after a couple of hours, but I got to put her to bed at 8pm. After that I got to watch Armeggedon and South Park. Mark woke up today around 3pm. It is now 2am and he cannot take being awake any longer so he is going to bed.

Mark, Jason, and I went to Three Dogs tonight and comented to the bar tender that the amount of people that go to that bar on any given night is very unpredictable. Sometimes we have gone on Tuesday nights and it has been slammed and tonight we went and there were about twelve other people there. He agreed that the crowds that showed up were unpredictable, and then did last call at 1.

May 13, 2003

This is a very special day on /mark because this is the day that I give "shot-outs" to everyone that comes to my site. And without further ado...

Shot out to my brother for hosting the site, updating that pic on the right hand side all the time (currently mega-man), merging the gap between brother and best friend, and being the best dad. Shot out to My mom and dad for giving me money and being the coolest 'rents who ever produced me, (Now for the special shots out's due to their regular postings on my site: Shot out to Gwen for taking me to all kinds of good indie flicks and being friends with a 'kid'. Shot out to Matt B for trying his darndest on the movie quotes, but only getting the ones that are dated before 1992, for returning as a hyena, and for talking to me on AIM on mondays (and for getting me conditioned for hockey). Shot out to Nick for being the most "hang-out-able" roomate I've ever had, and always knowing the quote because he was the one who probably introduced me to the movie in the first place, and finally, for the super special, Shot out to other Matt (Gwens friend) for reading this site every day even though you have never met me. Shot out to Lance for representing D-town in the windy apple, Shot out to Jenni for representing D-town (and Cory Brunson) in Portland and being a great phone buddy (unlike Lance). Shot out to My sis, Julie, for trying to get internet in order to check this site, but failing miserably (and representin D-town is SFco). Shot out to Weston for not wanting to pay for internet, therefore only reading this site when in my room, Shot out to JL for checking what time I posted the night before to determine when to call me the next morning, Shot out to Kat Husson for marrying my bro and being my favorite sister in law and my nieces favorite and best mom (and appreciating the "0" birthday candle/cake in the hospital). Shot out to randal for inspiring me to do this site. Shot out to Kelly H for being cool to me still even tho we don't hang out anymore, Shot out to Leah for checking this website without my knowing and being way cool. Shot out to my dad's secretary for enjoying my bio, Shot out to Tyler S for never posting on this site, but liking me anyway (and for Graduating), Shot out to todd for commenting and being my 2nd brother (I probably should have included him in the super special shot-outs). Shot out to Maggie for still hangin out with me and general radness.Shot out to Joey for posting the most intresting and delightful comments to date, dispite the quantity of them. Shot out to Kirsten Dunst for being hot to me. Shot out to the boulder crew : Di for being my best friend whom happens to be a girl, and Dan for always having to get 12 hints for the movie quote, but posting like he got it on his own. Shot out to Dean, my landlords dog for jumping on me and dirtying my pants around my 'special area'. Shot out to Sarah and Chrisse for being hot and desirable by me, even tho I never acted on my feelings. Shot out to Schizawn for hooking me up with a wicked internship. And finally, Shot out to all the homies left off this list. You could post a comment, telling me I left you off the list, but maybe you don't deserve it, being that you never post a comment. Muahahahaaa.

-=MovieQuote of the Day=- (Because its so popular among my friends, it is a very small line from the movie and check back during the day for hints)

May 12, 2003

Today was quite the day. My niece, Sarah, got baptized this morning and was probably the subject of over 100 photographs, being that we had about 6 cameras there, most of them digital. After that, she decided to sleep...for 5 hours...while we were all throwing her a 'baptism party'. Tom C, Ann Marie, and their two daughters were in town for the festivities too, so that was cool. Pics should be up on mh.com soon. It was also a glorious mothers day, but my poor mom only got one present so I feel bad for her, despite her having a wonderful day. Go moms!

I'm in the pre-beta stages of coming up with a new design for the site, so any ideas you may have are beyond welcome. Other than that, I have this entire week off, so call me and wezah gunna hang out. And sister pointed out that no one got that really long quote from the other day. Movie was "100 Girls" and it comes highly recommended by me.

-=MovieQuoteoftheDay=- (both quotes same movie)

May 9, 2003

Last night we went to This bar called Last Chance. There, we were provided with live music from a descent band who also did come good covers (Social D, etc.), a hefty mosh pit, and ! cent beers. Turned out to be a great night. I would pull one of my friends into the mosh pit, then they would pull someone in, and by the end of the night, pretty much our whole crew was in having a blast. Travis got a black eye, but that was the worst of the injuries. We also came up with a good drinking game. Ultimate Paper Rock Scissors. This is where you get anywhere from 3 to 10 people to all play Paper Rock Scissors at the same time. You drink for everyone that beat you. So if you throw down Scissors, and there are 2 people with paper and one person with rock, the 2 with paper drink once (because of you), you drink once (because of the rock), and the rock drinks twice (because of the 2 papers). Its a good time, folks.

Tyler and Todd's parents are coming today so I don't know if we will be hanging out with them during the day or not. The nice thing about coming up here, is that I know enough people to always have someone to hang out with.

May 8, 2003

Arrival in Gunnison went as expected -- off without a hitch. Weston and I arrived here about 10pm and were greeted with Todd, Tyler, Levi, and Jeff's hospitality. Not much went on, but it was a blast to be in Gunni again and see the kids. Later in the night, Travis came home and only good came from that. Played a little CS, had a little fun, but tomorrow should be off the "Hiv"-ook as they say. Those kids. Everyone finishes finals tomorrow and theres 1 cent beers at the local pub, so it will indubitably be a good time. Until then...

Yesterday's quote was Evil Dead 2 (I'm dissappointed in matt b), one of the few movies I can think of where a character kills his girlfriend with a chainsaw...

I'm going to Gunnison tonight to have fun and see Tyler's Graduation. Saw the movie The Shape of Things tonight once again, free via Gwen. I didn't like it so much, it felt too much like a play (because it was based on a play) and I don't think they did a good enough job adapting it. I need your help on this quiz by going to Filmwise's newest contest here. We can't figure out #6 (I have a good guess already), #11, and #16. I also need #12 confirmed as Jackie Brown, and #4 confirmed as A Fish Called Wanda.
Any help would be appreciated, even things like "Its some movie with that one guy".

-=MovieQuoteoftheDay=- (Its a whopper)
"Without you, I'm as lonely as an abandoned dog on the side of a highway. I have gift anxiety, even through I don't know when your birthday is. We can spend perfect days shopping and cleaning together. I swear, I'll never make wisecracks when you scrape your tires against the curb while parallel parking. If you consent to live with me, I'll clean the toilet every week. I'll do it with my tongue if you ask. I will strike the words "hooters" and "love rockets" from my vocabulary. I'll love you. Even if your name is Mimi and you want me to pronounce it "May May". I will only pass gas underneath the covers and under the direst of circumstances. Hell, I'll go on a low cholesterol diet. And I won't buy one of those red sports cars when I hit my mid-life crisis. Your parents can come visit us every week, even if your mom is a witch with a capital B. And your folks don't have to go to a retirement home because they can come live with us. I declare, I'll separate the whites from the colors and learn the mysteries of hot and cold water washes. I'll never huff and puff while waiting for you to put on my makeup. If you're a cat person, I'll never point out the fact that a dog can save your life from drowning, but a cat can't. I will happily go see chick flicks with you, like "Pride and Prejudice". I'll make a point to trying new food like okra gumbo. I won't curl my nose at vegetables whose awful taste is disguised by having cheese on it. I pledge to always say "yes" when you ask, "Is my hair looking okay tonight?" I'm gonna bring a whole new meaning to the word "cuddle". I'll be thoughtful enough to read your horoscope every day. I'm gonna save every birthday card you send me! And I'll actually write you real letters when we're apart. I'm never gonna expect you to know where I left my car keys, and I'll never leave my socks on the floor. With me, you'll find the cap is always on the toothpaste. I'll start wearing those bikini style underwear if you like. My belly button will always be lint free. I want to full-on kiss you. It will be the most passionate, intimate experience you've ever had. I declare now, I will give my life for you. And if you fail to come to me, I know some part of me will surely die."

May 6, 2003

Just finished my last projects for my senior seminar class, and after I turn them in and have a little chat with my prof, im diggidy-done (and then I got to register for the summer and next year = boo). Anyhow, I did a painting as one of my projects and thought it was good so I took a lo-quality picture of it for your enjoyment and slapped it here (the class is on Holocaust, and its a pic of a Jewish prisoner at the time of liberation).

Going to Gunnison on Wed night with Wes (assuming T&T let us come up ; ) and it should be a rockin' good time. Go Mountaineers!
Oh, and I saw X2. It was very good, as well as very Empire Strikes Back-esque. The coolest part was when Cyclops started crying, instead of tears dripping down his face, little baby laser beams shot down from under his sunglasses. Cyclops ruled.

May 5, 2003

As much as I don't like updating Sunday nights, here it is because a lot of you guys come here on Mondays. Its a popular day on this website for some reason.

Cinco de Mayo. Heres my only problem with this holiday. If I was celebrating an American holiday, lets say 4th of July, how would I go about it? In the afternoon my close friends and/or family would gather for a picnic and tell fun stories that made us laugh. Later, we would all head down to some place to watch fireworks, and after the show, go get some Ice Cream or something. Maybe just a Coke. Anyhow, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated by driving in a car with a flag down Federal (1 small block away from my house) screaming out the window while listening to loud music on a bad system. I don't get the fun.
Friday night I went outside to play some hockey in my street (versus the wall across the street) and when I went out there there was a stream of around 60 cars that went by. Our street is lucky if it gets 60 cars down it a day. I was mad and I obviously didn't get to actually play.

Today was quite the eventfull.... ..day. I slept through Nick's college graduation because I set my alarm for 9:30 pm. Sorry Nick. I suck.
But he came home and the congradu-bulator came to wish him congradu-bulations, so all was good. Then, Weston and I met a bunch of cats (Darcy, Chelsea, Justin, Dan, and others) at Eliches for a birthday thing for Di. It was awesome. Since it was Cinco de Mayo, the park was pretty empty. All the lines were walk on for the most part. The longest I had to wait in line was 7 mins for Tower of Doom which was lame. Rode the 'Super Man lay down' ride and that was really cool, except it banged up about half of the people we were with, what with the jerky and erratic movements.

Weston and I went to go play hockey at 5 and were stuck downtown again by Cinco de Mayo traffic, so ended going back up to I-25/I-70. Lost the stupid single elimination game, but the new season starts in 2 weeks. (For my ego) I did however score our only goal from a pass by Jeff C. On the way home I forgot go get off on Pecos. Federal was closed because of Cinco de Mayo which wasn't a problem, because coming from the east, theres an exit at Lowell. Closed off. Sheridan. Closed off. Harlan. So many cars backed up to the highway (about 60).that it wasn't worth it. Got off on wadsworth and had to drive for 7 mins to get back to my house (which my street was blocked off, by the way). And as Nick pointed out they probably all think they're celebrating Mexican Independence Day, whereas Cinco de Mayo is actually the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, when a small, ill-equipped Mexican army beat Napoleon III's mighty French forces. Mexican Independence Day isn't till September 16th.
Boo de Mayo.

Tonight was dumb, but watched Primal Fear.

How was your day? Here was my last few hours: Last night, work until 11:30 doing truck at my last day at Best Buy. On the way home, stop at Woody's for 1/2 hour to have a drink with Jason and Wes. Then, Type a paper until 2:30. Head over to McCoys at 3 to study for final. Come home and goto sleep at 5:45. Wake up at 7:45 and take final exam which I do sub-par on. Then, spend the next 7 hours with no food working on Artificial Intelligence project which ends up being 9 pages full of linear algebra, and calculus. Turn in project at 5. After going almost a full 12 hours awake with no food (and on 2 hours of sleep), go for a delightful dinner (less the food) with Nick, and our respective parents. Thats where I'm at now, so don't tell me you've had a bad day.

Finals almost over with. i don't like posting while i have a lot of stuff going on. sorry.
However, one thing I did think about today. When a spider comes down from a ceiling on his little string, and then gets scared and goes back up, does he suck his string back up in his butt? If this is the case, that would be a lot of spider string up a spiders butt and I'll bet it hurts. At least a little bit.
