I got back from St. Louis last night, and boy are my eyes tired. We left at around 8am and did not arrive home until 1:00am. That would be a solid 17 hours of hardcorps drive time. We hit some freezing rain halfway through Kansas and from there to Denver, it just got snowier and snowier. We saw probably around 8 vehicles that had slid off the road, or got into accidents from sliding out. Of those 8, there were about 3 that had rolled several times, all of those being trucks or SUV's. At a blazing average speed of 35mph, we drove back to Denver safe and sound. I will have photos up sooner or later on my flickr account. Q: "Why don't you put the photos up post haste mark? Isn't that why you got flickr?" A: "You can't upload something post haste when you don't have internet at home." Q: "I thought you had Comcast broadband at home, why don't you use that" A: "Comcast tends to shut off your modem when your roommate doesn't pay the bill for the better part of 3 months" So I am internetless for a while until Comcast receives Weston's check, assuming it does not bounce. I am rather disappointed about this. -=MovieQuoteoftheDay=- "I've never seen a turtle...But I understand what you mean"
Holy mackerel. This was a busy week. Everyone seems to be going somewhere for thanksgiving, and I am of course, no exception. Tomorrow morning at the ripe time of 5 o'clock am I will be headed for St. Louis with Sara to spend Thanksgiving where I will consume as much food as I normally do at dinner. You see, for some reason, on thanksgiving, I never eat more than usual. However, I usually eat a lot, so perhaps I am eating a Thanksgiving sized meal on every day that isn't Thanksgiving, and a normal sized meal for the actual Thanksgiving. but I digress.. While I am in St. Louis I will be eating Ted Drew's Frozen Custard and also visiting with my cousins. Prepending my voyage back to Denver, Sara and I will be picking up two wayward travelers, Michael and Kat whom will have just finished attending a high-school 10 year anniversary. Us travelers four will then drive back to Denver, just in time to miss our Hockey game. Have a great Thanksgiving.
I started that flickr account like I've been saying I would. The main page is here or you can click at the bottom of the right of those pictures over there -----> So now I have my Portland pictures there as well as a few from Halloween. Flickr has one of the coolest UI's for the user I have seen. It is very cool if you get a chance, maybe check out a free account.
Well hello and welcome back to /mark. I have been busier than Ashlee Simpson's Prilosec lately (sorry) and have not updated as you can see. Last Wednesday night my computer broke and I have yet to revive it. Then on Thursday Sara and I went to visit our dearest friend Jenni Jones in Portland. The trip was fantastic. We did a lot of eating of food, drinking of coffee, drinking of alcohol, and drinking of alcoholic coffee (the new trend in Portland is the 'Spanish coffee' which is a mixture of many types of alcohol, set ablaze then doused with coffee). On the last day there we decided to rent an automobile and drive up the highway to beautiful Seattle, Washington. First off, Seattle isn't beautiful and whoever told you that it was is a dirty liar. It was overcast and drizzlie, which was to be expected, but the city is set up much different than I would have thought. All of downtown seems to be on a big slope. Like, a really steep slope. Kind of like San Francisco, but more slopie near the bay area. Anyhow, we saw the tourist market thing and I saw the naked starbucks logo (she's a little homely), and I found out that the "Space" Needle doesn't actually take up much space and is grossly overrated. On the plus side, we went to a really cool park called Gasworks Park. It overlooks some water with the city on the other side. You can even see the stupid Space Needle. The trip was awesome and I will have pictures up from it (and also Halloween) when I sign up for a flickr account. also its my birthday. I am in my 25th year of living now, making me 24 years old.
Today is the -=MovieQuoteoftheDay=- Roundup! You can do whatever you want to get these unanswered movie quotes right! -Google them! -IMDB them! -Ask Question to me through the comments! -Ask your parents! -Ask your co-workers! Here are the unanswered quotes as of recent: 1) "So then my heart starts clocking a buck fifty, 'cause there's no one else here except me and him." 2) "The sad ending is only because the author stops telling the story. But it still goes on. It's just untold." 3) "It's the librarian fantasy, man. Glasses off, hair down, books flying..." "She doesn't wear glasses." "Well, buy her some, it's worth it." 4) "Doctors say that [he] has a 50 - 50 chance of living, though there's only a 10 percent chance of that." -=MovieQuoteoftheDay=- (nice, huh?) "I think...I just shat myself!"
A month ago I entered this online amateur photography contest. I did it because I liked the idea. My submission was neat, I thought, but being that it was one of the first photographs I have taken with the art of photography in mind, I think it came out well. However, if you compare it to the other submissions, you can see that I clearly need some practice. Luckily, I have a year to practice until they do the contest again. Here is the sub-par submission (but I still like it anyway). -=MovieQuoteoftheDay=- "Doctors say that [he] has a 50 - 50 chance of living, though there's only a 10 percent chance of that."
1st off, Please go vote today. No matter who you are voting for. If you haven't voted yet, go do it. This weekend was awesome. We had a Halloween party on Saturday night. It was by far the biggest and best party I have ever been a part of. The majority of the night there were around 100 people there and all but 4 people the entire night were in costume. We had 2 kegs and a grip of liquor. I went as Dr. John Dorian and nick painted himself black to go as Dr. Christopher Turk. My girlfriend went as Princess Leia (amazing), Jason was a zombie, and Weston went as A Ghostbuster sporting a Proton Pack full of kamikazes, spraying them into peoples mouths. Jason and Weston spent a lot of time and money decorating the house which was full of all kinds of Halloween stuff from tons of blacklights to boiling cauldrons and all the walls had black tarp covering them. Sunday was rough. Our hockey team lost 7-3. Half of our team was hung over and we were playing against a team that had 2 ringers and 6 bodies. The game was fun though. I also saw Les Triplettes de Belleville which was an awesome animated French film. I think it won some awards.
