This post has nothing to do with routers. In my hockey game tonight, I had a conversation with the ref toward the end of the first period right before a face-off: me: "Hey, you need to start calling more penalties. It's getting bad out here, someone's going to get hurt." ref: "What things should I be calling?" me: "Penalties." ref: "You guys are falling down out there. It's hard to tell what's you falling and what a penalty." me: "Um, it's your job to know the difference." Then the ref called for another skater to take the face-off. Classy. I guess that's the kind of refs you get in the lowest league. We lost 3-2 but we had a goal that went all the way in the net and bounced out that they didn't give us. The best part about hockey is no matter how bad the refs are, it's still fun and great exercise. Labels: hockey
Last night my hockey team, the Ligers, won our second playoff game this post-season 7-2. We played pretty well but the best part of the game was our goalie scoring the game-winning goal. We were up 2-0 and their team had cleared it down to our end. Our goalie skated up to control it and looked to pass it. No one was open, or making any moves, so our goalie just cleared it straight down the ice. It flew past about 3 players, and hit the opposing goalies stick. Unfortunately for them, his stick was at quite an angle, and the puck bounced off of it and into the goal. We celebrated for a few minutes while the other team looked like someone just shot their puppy. The championship game is tonight at 9:15pm at Big Bear Ice Arena in Lowry. This will be out third time making it to the championship game, but we have never won it. So if you want to see us play, this would be the night to do it. Update: Lost the championship game. It's all good though, we had a great season. Played a descent final game. "This may sound like gibberish to you, but I think I'm in a tragedy." Labels: hockey
I usually refrain from posts where I admit how dissappointed I am in civilization, but I figure I'll let this one get through. Saturday night my dad got a pair of tickets for the Avs - Red Wings game and it was an awesome game. The first time we beat them since 2004. But the thing that bothered me was the singing of the national anthem. The singer wasn't the problem, it was the crowd. They do this thing where they cheer and whistle whenever they can in the middle of the song, and then yell out in a drunken-like bellow "WAS STILL THERE". My guess is they think they are being patriotic. But actually they just sound like bunch of douchebags. The most patriotic thing you could do is probably keep silent and show some respect. Hope there's someone out there who agrees. I had to get that one of my chest. "Hug hug, kiss kiss, hug hug, big kiss, little hug, kiss kiss, little kiss."
